WELLS FOR THE WORLD
Project Overview
PUNCH Films will work with Franklin Electric to create a 90 second film that will share the vision, success and future outlook for the Wells of the World Program. This film will serve as a positive culture piece embodying the generosity of the Franklin organization’s world view as it elevates underserved communities around the globe with vastly improved access to water.
The script will be derived from the voices of Franklin. It can be challenging to capture the true nuances of meaning and intent around programs that give back in such a profound way. We plan to take a personalized experience approach to capturing commentary from a small cross section of the Franklin team.
We will record “audio-only” interviews with 5 individuals on the team. The questions will be tailored to the person allowing everyone to share their perspective on the impact Wells of the World has on the mission and culture of Franklin Electric. From these interviews we will produce an outline and script. In our experience in corporate documentary and testimonial work, we’ve discovered that rich story telling evolves out of candid conversations with stakeholders. We intend to distill the comments into a voice over script and intersperse some of the commentary into the final voice of the piece.
Visually, we are limited to an existing photo and video depository. We’ve had great success in working historical and existing photos into an animated graphics treatment to visualize our stories. We used this technique in a recently completed history of Franklin Electric.
Franklin Electric History Video
Imagery
The available imagery for this Wells project is more of a snapshot style, so a different approach is necessary. Our approach will focus on the framing of photos in a creative story telling context. We’ve provided some inspirational images, videos and an experimental proof of concept.
Example Ideas
We’re excited to create this motivating cultural piece for Franklin Electric to help illustrate the global mission and values that Franklin Electric embodies through action with purpose.

Shotlist
Wells for the World Event Suggested Shot List
Thank you for helping us capture smartphone footage on the ground at the upcoming FWWF ribbon-cutting event to share the stories of these projects. We respect that your time will be filled with many requirements, and we’re grateful for and happy with any footage or images captured on site. The following list is meant to provide ideas and inspiration and is not a list of required footage.
Notes on technique: Please film horizontally with your phone. Keep the camera steady for these wide shots; moving it around is unnecessary. Video is preferred, but a few still photos are a bonus.
To simplify, we’re dividing the list into three categories with ideas to inspire your footage capture:
Impact - Video that shows people benefitting from easy access to water
Families using water (drinking, watering a plant, cooking, transporting)
Kids in school, at play, doing errands
Kids at well holding water, filling jugs, playing (adults may likely want to encourage kids to behave for photo ops, but ideally we’d like to see them simply being themselves)
Animals drinking or grazing
Environmental - Video that establishes place and alludes to why water is so precious
Surrounding environment and landscape
Looking out of the vehicle while driving to the location
Village buildings (schools, medical facilities, community gardens)
Installed well and structures (water tower and solar panels)
Event - The Ribbon Cutting Event Featuring Joe Ruzynski and Greg Levine
Joe and/or Greg at the Ribbon Cutting
Statements made by Joe and Greg at event (iPhone quality audio should be fine)
Joe and/or Greg talking to locals and leaders in the community (with kids and families, if applicable)
Joe and/or Greg getting water from the well, holding it in their hands
